Clothing

Suitable Clothing

We would ask parents dress children in clothes suitable for aspects of play, outdoor and indoor.

There are forms of dress, which are unacceptable in establishments such as items of clothing which;

  • potentially encourage faction (such as football colours);
  • could cause offence (such as anti-religious symbolism or political slogans);
  • could cause Health and Safety difficulties, such as loose fitting clothing, dangling earnings, or clothing made from
  • flammable material for example shell suits in practical activities;
  • could cause damage to the floor;
  • carry advertising particularly for alcohol or tobacco
  • could easily be used to inflict damage to other pupils or be used by others to do so.

The Council is concerned at the level of claims being received regarding the loss of children’s clothing and or personal belongings. Parents are asked to assist in this area by ensuring that valuable items of clothing are not worn to the establishment. Parents should note that the authority does not carry insurance for the loss of such items and any claim submitted are likely to be met only where the authority can be shown to have been negligent.

Nursery Sweatshirts & Polo Shirts

Polo shirts, sweat shirts and fleece jackets with the Children's Centre's logo on them are available to buy at the Centre.  Price list and order forms are available. We have waterproof jackets and trousers available for all the children attending the Centre.

We ask that children come to the Centre dressed in clothing suitable for the weather on that day as the children have access to outdoor play every day.
